An allosteric agonist
Biological Activity
AC-42 is a specific agonist of the muscarininc M1 receptor (pEC50 = 6.54) with little or no activity against other muscarinic receptor family members. AC-42 binds to an allosteric site adjacent to the adjacent to the orthosteric, acetylcholine binding site.
