Uses

18:1 PI(3,4)P2 (1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1μ-myo-inositol-3μ,4μ-bisphosphate) (ammonium salt)) has been used:

  • in liposomes/supported lipid bilayer preparation
  • in liposome co-sedimentation
  • in the preparation of anionic phospholipid liposomes

Biological Activity

PI(3,4)P2 can act as a lipid second messenger. In mast cells, PI(3,4)P2 plays a key role in protein kinase B (PKB) phosphorylation on Ser473 sites.
