Uses
New methylene blue N has been used as a photosensitizer for the photodynamic inactivation of Candida albicans.
Preparation
by heavy chromate salt in sodium content and save treatment 2-Methyl-4-nitroso-N-methylaniline, transforming it into the content and sulfonic acid (2 – Amino-5 – acetic acid aminophenylthio), this product then through heavy chromate salt and N-ethyl-2-methylbenzenamine hydrochloride processing, into a unique of sulfur acid amine generation, then use heavy chromate salt and copper sulfate closed loop and oxidation, Finally,?the?zinc chloride?salt?precipitation
Biological Activity
New methylene blue N can bind, neutralize and crosslink with RNA. This causes co-precipitation of ribosomal and residual RNA with the mitochondria and ferritin masses. These events make the living young erythrocytes as microscopically visible, dark-blue clusters and filaments, referred to as reticulum. New Methylene Blue N helps in counting of reticulocytes (erythrocytes containing RNA).
Properties and Applications
bright blue. Soluble in cold water for violet blue, soluble in hot water for shallow blue, soluble in ethanol for green light blue. The strong sulfuric acid for yellow green, diluted to blue. Dye with sodium hydroxide solution into a chocolate brown, have precipitation.
