Diphenyl[(phenylthio)phenyl]sulfonium hexafluorophosphate (SON) can serve as a cationic photoinitiator in two-component photoinitiating systems with diphenyl sulfone-based dyes (DSOs). These systems are utilized to initiate the cationic polymerization of epoxides (like E51) under a 405 nm LED light source[1].
