Chemical Properties

3-[(Z)-3-Hexenyloxy]-propanenitrile is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a green, floral, violet, and cucumber-like odor. Due to its stability, it is recommended for fragrance compositions for nearly all technical applications. The material is produced by a base-catalyzed addition of (Z)-3-hexenol to acrylonitrile .
