Description
The leaves of Anthocephalus cadamba elaborate this alkaloid which forms an amorphous white powder with no definite melting point. It has been isolated and characterized as the O-acetate which is laevorotatory with a specific rotation of [α]D25 - 65° (CHCI3). The structure has been established from chemical analysis and spectroscopic investigations.
