Step 8: Tert-butyl (3R,4R)-4-azidotetrahydro-2H-pyran-3-ylcarbamate (700 mg, 2.89 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (10 mL) and palladium/carbon hydroxide catalyst was added. The reaction was carried out under hydrogen (1 atm) atmosphere for 6 hours. After completion of the reaction, the palladium/carbon hydroxide was removed by filtration and the filtrate was concentrated to afford tert-butyl (3R,4R)-4-aminotetrahydro-2H-pyran-3-ylcarbamate (610 mg).
