Biological Activity

Phosphatidylinositol (PI) can serve as a precursor for inositol phosphates, th at are soluble in water. 18:1 PI (1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1μ-myo-inositol)/ DOPI) may serve as a substrate for lysosomal phospholipase A2 (LPLA2) and can promote LPLA2 activity.
