Application

1-Vinyl-3-ethylimidazolium bromide can be used as an organic synthesis intermediate and a pharmaceutical intermediate, mainly in laboratory research and development processes and chemical production processes.

Synthesis

1-vinylimidazole and ethylene bromide were configured according to the molar ratio 1:1.2. A certain amount of 1-vinylimidazole was placed in a three-necked flask, ethyl bromide was placed in a constant-pressure funnel and connected to the funnel and flask, and the drip rate of the constant-pressure funnel was adjusted to be 1 drop/3s, so that the ethyl bromide was dripped into the three-necked flask to make it react with 1-vinylimidazole. The reaction was clearly exothermic, and as the reaction progressed, it was observed that the system liquid gradually became viscous. After the drop of ethyl bromide was finished, the reaction was carried out for another period of time to make the reaction of 1-vinylimidazole complete, and then the reaction product was left to crystallize completely at room temperature to obtain white crystals.
