Application

Traditional molybdenum chemical products mainly fall into a few categories, such as catalysts, lubricants, and pigments, with limited variety. Only hydrodesulfurization and denitrification catalysts and acrylic acid oxidation catalysts are acrylonitrile catalysts. Lubricants are limited to lubricant-grade molybdenum disulfide, with most molybdenum disulfide used in greases. Pigments include molybdenum orange and molybdenum red, primarily used as colorants in paints, plastics, rubber, and inks. Currently, in addition to catalysts, lubricants, and pigments, there are also molybdate corrosion inhibitors, flame retardants and smoke suppressants, gas bags, molybdenum fertilizers, ceramics, electrochromic glass, nanomaterials, self-cleaning agents, coatings, alkaline molybdenum oxide battery materials, medical bactericides and fungicides, antibacterial agents, resins containing antibacterial agents, functional materials, and diamond-coated molybdenum, electron emission materials, etc. The categories and varieties of molybdenum chemical products are increasing, with the number of molybdenum-containing catalysts alone increasing by tens to nearly a hundred times, indicating a trend towards diversification in the applications of molybdenum chemical products.
