Chemical Properties

7,70 -Iminobis(4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid) [87-03-6] J acid imide, di-J acid, is produced by heating the sodium salt of J acid in aqueous sodium bisulfite at 106℃ for 36 h (yield 89 %). It is used to produce C.I. Direct Reds 31 and 149, as well as C.I. Direct Violets 48, 66, and 102.
