Uses

Used in the manufacture of 4-formyl-1,3-benzenedisulfonic acid, 4-car- boxy-1,3-benzenedisulfonic acid, and 4-methyl-resorcinol.

Production Methods

Toluol-2,4-disulfonsure is obtained by additional sulfonation of the o- and p-toluenesulfonic acid mixture with 66% oleum at 125 ℃.
