Chemical Properties
Black uniform powder. Soluble in water, ethylene glycol ether, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in other organic solvents. Its aqueous solution is reddish black, slightly reddish when added to concentrated alkali solution. In concentrated sulfuric acid is dark blue to navy blue, after dilution is dark red light blue to black; in concentrated nitric acid is red solution; in concentrated hydrochloric acid is slightly soluble, is red light gray.
Preparation
4-Nitrobenzenamine diazo, and 5-Aminonaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid and 8-Aminonaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid matches, will the nitro reduction for amino, product to diazo, and 6-Amino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid?coupling, generation of accidentally nitrogen compounds to diazo, and Benzene-1,3-diamine coupling (31560).
