Description

WCR sex pheromone is a synthetic compound that has been used as an insecticide and acaricide. It is the racemic mixture of two stereoisomers, which are mirror images of each other. The chemical name for WCR sex pheromone is 1-(1,1'-bicyclopropyl)-2-(8-methyleneocta-1,3,5,7-tetraene)ethanol. This chemical has been shown to be toxic to weevils and chrysomelidae larvae. It also stains polyvinyl chloride surfaces with a brown coloration.
