Health Hazard
Moderately toxic by ingestion; mild skin irritant; animal experiments indicate sufficientevidence of carcinogenicity; cancer-causingeffects in humans remain unknown.
LD50 oral (rat): 200 mg/kg
LD50 oral (dog): 200 mg/kg.
Safety Profile
Poison by ingestion. Questionable carcinogen with experimental carcinogenic data. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of Cl-. See also CHLORINATED HYDROCARBONS, AROMATIC.
