of buchu leaf oil. It is mainly used to boost the fruity notes of fragrance
compositions.
The material is produced by oximation of 1,5-dimethylbicyclo[3.2.1]octan-8-
one, which is obtained by a two-step reaction starting from 1,5-dimethylcyclooctadiene.
