Uses

Aureothin, an unusual pyranone metabolite, has broad biological actions including antitumour, antimicrobial and insecticidal activities. Aureothin acts by inhibiting oxidoreductase. More recently, aureothin has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of Helicobacter pylori.
