(R)-Flecainide Chemical Properties,Usage,Production

Description

R-(–)-Flecainide is the (R) enantiomer of the antiarrhythmic agent flecainide . R-(–)-Flecainide prevents chloroform-induced ventricular fibrillation in mice (ED50 = 14.5 mg/kg). It also prevents ouabain-induced ectopic ventricular tachycardia in anesthetized dogs.

Uses

R-Enantiomer of Flecainide. Antiarrhythmic (class IC).

in vivo

R-(–)-Flecainide inhibits chloroform-induced fibrillation (9-20 mg/kg, po, single dose) in mice model with an ED50 of 14.5 mg/kg, and inhibits ouabain induced arrhythmias (1-3 mg/kg, ) in mongrel dog model, without toxicity[1].

Animal Model:Chloroform-induced ventricular fibrillation in mice[1]
Dosage:9-20 mg/kg
Administration:po, single dose
Result:Prevented fibrillation.
Animal Model:Ouabain induced ventricular tachycardia in mongrel dog[1]
Dosage:1-3 mg/kg
Administration:iv, single dose
Result:Inhibited arrhythmias.
