(b) The compound (5.28 g, 27.3 mmol) prepared in the previous step was dissolved in Et2O (70 mL) at -78 °C and a THF solution (7.93 mL, 7.93 mmol) of 1 M TBAF was slowly added. The reaction mixture was stirred continuously for 1 h at -78 °C. Subsequently, the reaction solution was diluted with EtOAc and washed three times with H2O. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure. The crude product obtained was purified by silica gel column chromatography using a mixed solvent of gradient polarity hexane/CH2Cl2 as eluent, resulting in 2.34 g of the target product 2-alkynyl-6-fluoropyridine in 70% yield.The results of the LC-MS (Method 2) analysis were as follows: retention time tR = 2.10 min; mass-to-charge ratio m/z = 122 (MH+).
