Description

C8 Phytoceramide is a cell-permeable analog of phytosphingosine . It is composed of a phytosphingosine backbone amine-linked to a C8 fatty acid chain. C8 Phytoceramide has been used as a standard for the determination of ceramides in commercial cosmetics using LC-MS.1

ChEBI: N-octanoylphytosphingosine is a phytoceramide in which the N-acyl group is specified as octanoyl. It is functionally related to an octanoic acid.
