Uses
Metal borides can be used to generate batteries or fuel cells, serving as an alternative energy source to petroleum resources. Electrochemical energy storage technology using the multi-electron oxidation of metal borides, such as vanadium boride, holds promise as a replacement for existing batteries based on single-electron charge storage. Multi-electron oxidation of vanadium boride anodes coupled to carbon-air cathodes provides superior electrochemical energy storage capacity due to its multi-electron charge storage capability.
