Uses

BMS 823778 is a potent and selective inhibitor of human 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11β-HSD-1) enzyme.

BMS-823778 (10-100 mg/kg; oral; once) hydrochloride exhibits robust acute pharmacodynamic effects in diet-induced obese (DIO) mice (ED50=34 mg/kg) [1].

Result:Inhibition of 11β-HSD-1 was observed as a measure of decrease in the plasma concentration of corticosterone. The ED50 was 34 mg/kg.
