Uses

(3-Methylaminopropyl)-5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine, is an impurity of Desipramine (D290050), a tricyclic antidepressant that is a more potent inhibitor of the norepinephrine transporter than the serotonin transporter. It is also related to the antidepressive drug Imipramine (I465980), having capacity to inhibit the uptake of 5-hydoxy tryptamine (5-HT) by human platelets in vitro.
