Preparation

Chloromethyl Trimethylsilylmethyl Sulfide is prepared in 69% yield by introducing dry Hydrogen Chloride into a mixture of  trimethylsilylmethanethiol and 1,3,5-trioxane (see Formaldehyde) at temperature below 0 °C.
