Ethyl 6-Cyano-1H-indole-2-carboxylate is a chemical reagent used in the synthesis of benzofuran inhibitors for mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase-1. Applications towards diabetes, obesity and insulin-resistant metabolic disorders. Also a reagent in the preparation of platelet receptor glycoprotein (Gp) IIb/IIIa antagonists used as ati-thrombotic agents.
