Uses

2-Methylthioadenosine 5μ-monophosphate triethylammonium salt hydrate has been used:

  • as a P2Y12 inhibitor to study its effects on stimulation of endocytosis in high-density lipoprotein (HDL).
  • as a P2Y12 inhibitor to study its effects on platelet recruitment in whole human blood.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The only known preferential antagonist for P2Y(AC) receptor; this is the platelet ADP receptor that is coupled to adenyl cyclase and is also referred to as the P2Y ADP receptor.
