Uses

LP 44 Hydrochloride is used in the preparation of (tetrahydronaphthalenyl)arylpiperazinealkylamides which an agonist of the serotonin 5-HT7 receptor.

Biological Activity

High affinity 5-HT 7 receptor agonist (K i = 0.22 nM) that displays selectivity over 5-HT 1A and 5-HT 2A receptors (200- and > 1000-fold respectively). Induces relaxation of substance P-stimulated guinea pig ileum (EC 50 = 2.56 μ M).

in vivo

LP44 (hydrochloride) (5.1, 10.3, 20.5, 41.0 nmol; i.c.v.) produces dose-dependent hypothermic effect in CBA mice^[1].
