Uses
As an important class of polyglycerol fatty acid esters, isostearic acid has long been widely used in cosmetics and lubricants due to its excellent low-temperature properties and resistance. Polyglycerol fatty acid esters can be used as defoamers, viscosity modifiers, crystallization regulators, coloring agents, and antibacterial preservatives. Application
Antibacterial Properties: Polyglycerol isostearate possesses certain antibacterial properties, inhibiting the growth of various microorganisms. Combined with its non-toxic and edible characteristics, it can be used as a food-grade antibacterial agent in canned and bagged foods. Daily Chemicals: Polyglycerol isostearate has excellent emulsifying ability, is non-irritating to skin and mucous membranes, and is non-toxic and harmless, making it ideal for use in detergents and cosmetics, especially baby products. Pharmaceutical Industry: In the pharmaceutical field, it can be used as an emulsifier, solubilizer, dispersant, and penetrant. It can also be used as an adjuvant in ointments, suppositories, tablets, powders, and injections. Other Applications: Polyglycerol isostearate has good heat resistance and flowability, and can be used as a plasticizer, lubricant, anti-drip agent, and antistatic agent for resins such as polyoxyethylene and polyolefins.
