Chemical Properties
Potassium tetracyanonickelate(II) can be crystallized as orange crystals of formula K2Ni(CN)4·H2O from the orange-red solution of nickel(II) cyanide in aqueous potassium cyanide. It can be dehydrated at 100°.
Safety Profile
Confirmed human carcinogen. Poison by ingestion. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of NOx, K2O, and CN-. See also NICKEL COMPOUNDS and CYANIDE.
