Uses
N,N''-Carbonylbis[L-glutamic Acid] is an impurity of the drug Carglumic Acid (C175965), which has been shown to have protective effects against ammonia intoxication and is used in the treatment of acute hyperammonemia. It has also been used to study the synthesis of urea-based inhibitors of glutamate carboxypeptidase II.
