Uses
Triuret is a byproduct of purine degradation in living organisms. It is a product from the pyrolsis of urea.
Definition
ChEBI: Triuret is a member of condensed ureas.
Production Methods
Triuret is produced by decomposing urea in a thin film at 120–125 ℃. It may also be obtained by treating 2 mol of urea with 1 mol of phosgene in toluene at 70–80 ℃.
Purification Methods
It gives mono and dipotassium salts. [Beilstein 3 H 72, 3 I 35, 3 II 60, 3 III 142.]
