Uses

According to one literature source, radium bromite (also known as “Radium-Bromatum”) has been used to treat mange-spots on dogs. The reason to use a radioactive chemical is not known except that radiumbromite is both radioactive and oxidative. Radium bromite is not available commercially and does not have a CAS number.

Preparation

In view of the intense radioactivity of ²²⁶Ra, there has been little incentive to prepare this salt. Radium Bromite can be prepared by the same methods used for its barium homologue, namely:
RaCl2＋ NaBrO2→Ra(BrO2)2＋ 2NaCl
