Uses
5-Amino-6-methylbenzimidazolone is used in preparing colorant for color filters.
Synthesis
The 500 ml four-necked bottle was fitted with stirring, condenser, thermometer and heating jacket, then 250 g of 85% ethanol-water solution was added to it, stirring was turned on, and 16.8 g (0.3 mol) of iron powder and 5.0 g of hydrochloric acid with a concentration of 36% were added sequentially under stirring conditions, and then after the addition, the stopper of the bottle was capped, the reflux condenser was turned on to cool the water, and the heating system was turned on to heat the system to boiling under stirring conditions for 30 minutes. The temperature of the system was heated to boiling under stirring conditions, and the activation was held under boiling conditions for 30 min, and then 15 g (0.078 mol) of 5-nitro-6-methylbenzimidazolone was uniformly added to the system within 4.0 h. During the period, the material was added every 5 min, and the temperature was always maintained at reflux, and the reaction was continued to hold the reaction under reflux conditions for 4.0 h after the addition. After holding the reaction for a period of 4.0 h, the reaction solution was neutralized with sodium carbonate to a pH = 6.5-6.0%.
