Uses

4-Hydroxy-benzocyclobutene is a functionalised monomer containing a benzocyclobutene (BCB) group, which can be used to prepare BCB thermosetting resins. BCB monomers can be converted into thermosetting resins simply by heating, without the need for any catalysts or additives, and do not release by-products during the curing process. This endows BCB resins with low shrinkage, excellent film-forming properties and perfect flatness. Due to their good mechanical properties, high heat resistance, strong adhesion, high electrical insulation and low dielectric constant, the resulting resins are widely used in the microelectronics industry.
