9-Anthraldehyde oxime Usage And Synthesis

Uses

9-Anthraldehyde oxime was used in preparation of new triosmium cluster [Os₃(CO)₁₁(C₁₄H₉CN)].

General Description

Gallium triflate catalyzed dehydration of 9-anthraldehyde oxime to nitrile is reported.

Synthesis

9-Anthraldehyde oxime was first synthesized by Hinkel and co-authors in 1935 (m.p. 186–187 °C). In repeating the preparation of the same compound by Fieser and Hartwell used a different procedure that afforded the desired compound in 93% yield with a different melting point of 165 °C.^[1]
