Synthesis

6-Chloro-2-amino-3,4-phthaloylacridone , Indanthren Turquoise Blue GK, is prepared from 1-amino-4(2'- carboxy-5'-chlorophenylamino)anthraquinone- 2-sulfonic acid by ring closure in weak oleum and cleavage of the sulfonic acid group .
