Chemical Properties
Warm, herbaceous-spicy odor, reminiscent of Carvone, with less character. Spicy-herbaceous, but somewhat bitter taste. Very rarely used in perfumes or flavors.
Production Methods
Carvotanacetone is produced in isolation from the essential oil of Blumea malcolmii. It could also be produced synthetically from Thujone.
