Uses

o-Tolylhydrazine Hydrochloride is a reagent used in the organic syntheses such as opioid receptor antagonists as well as adenosine receptor antagonists as well as adenosine receptor antagonists.

Uses

o-Tolylhydrazine hydrochloride has been used in the preparation of o-tolylhydrazone of D-galactose.

General procedure for the synthesis of o-tolylhydrazine hydrochloride from o-tolylhydrazine: purified o-tolylhydrazine (100 g) was dissolved in 69 mL of 37% hydrochloric acid, and the reaction solution was stirred at 65°C until crystallization. The reaction mixture was then cooled to 20°C and the solid product was collected by filtration. The filter cake was washed with acetone and dried to give 110 g of o-tolylhydrazine hydrochloride product with 99.2% purity and 39.5% yield.
