Medicine (topical antibacterial).
Hazard
Toxic by ingestion, inhalation, and skin absorption.
Safety Profile
Poison by ingestion and intraperitoneal routes. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Hg and I-. See also MERCURY and IODIDES.
