Description

Setiptiline is a mianserin analog reportedly useful in the treatment of depression with a favorable side-effect profile. It is a potent antagonist of alpha-receptors, with greater affinity at alpha, than alpha, sites, as well as an inhibitor of central serotonin receptors.

Chemical Properties

Flaky crystals. Soluble in ethyl acetate, benzene or chloroform, insoluble in ethanol. Melting point 138.5～139.5℃. Setiptiline Maleate: C19H19N?C4H4O4.[57262-95-0]. White to slightly yellowish white crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste. Soluble in chloroform, soluble in methanol, slightly soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in water. Melting point 153～158℃.
