Angustine Usage And Synthesis
Description
A synthesis of angustine has recently been reported. Ethyl oxalate is condensed with 4-methyl-5-vinylinicotinonitrile followed by condensation of the lactone thus produced with tryptamine. Hydrolysis and then cyclization of the product yields angustine.
Definition
ChEBI: Angustine is a member of beta-carbolines.
