Polysuccinimide Usage And Synthesis
Uses
Polysuccinimide, an amorphous polymer, is a polyimide precursor. Polysuccinimide can be used for the production of degradable polymers[1].
General Description
Polysuccinimide is a biodegradable and tissue-friendly polymer derived from L-aspartic acid. Under physiological conditions (pH = 7.4), it hydrolyses to form water-soluble polyaspartic acid. As it can be readily modified with primary amines, it is possible to synthesise a variety of polysuccinimides and polyaspartic acids with diverse properties.
