Uses

Oleoyl-L-carnitine is a long-chain fatty ester of carnitine which is accumulated and released into the circulation, in fatty-acid oxidation defects. Pattern of Oleoyl-L-carnitine can be diagnostic for a number of ?-oxidation defects.

General Description

Oleoyl-L-carnitine belongs to the class of long-chain acylcarnitines, the fatty acyl esters of L-carnitine. Its role as a potential analgesic agent and ability to inhibit the glycine transport by GlyT2 transporter is investigated.

Oleoylcarnitine (AC18:1) accumulates markedly in obesity-driven HCC tissues of mice[1].
