Uses

2-Isothiocyanoacetate methyl ester can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate. It can be prepared by reacting glycine methyl ester hydrochloride with phosgene. It can be used to prepare compound (R)-2-(3(1-(4-fluorophenyl)ethyl)thiourea)acetate methyl ester. This compound can be used as a secretase regulator (including inhibitors, antagonists, etc.) to treat various diseases, including central nervous system disorders such as neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, and other diseases related to amyloid protein deposition.
