MOLYBDENUM TRISULFIDE Usage And Synthesis
Application
Molybdenum trisulfide can be used as an amorphous molybdenum trisulfide cathode material for lithium-sulfur batteries; wear-resistant PA66 composite material; inorganic fullerene-like molybdenum disulfide; and polytetrafluoroethylene sealing gaskets for high wear-resistant motors, etc.

Synthesis
First, 37g of sodium sulfide was added into aqueous sodium molybdate solution (3g of molybdenum trioxide was dissolved in 1.6g of caustic soda) to obtain sodium molybdate sulfide, cooled to 15??, added ethanol (mass concentration of 95%) 60mL, stirred to add sulfuric acid (mass concentration of 43%) 55mL, the temperature was kept above 15??, the precipitation was formed, and it was filtered and washed until it was free of sulfate ions. After washing, 20mL of ethanol was added and dried in air, and finally 3.7g of molybdenum trisulfide with a particle size of 1~2μm was produced.
