N-Biotinylaminoethyl Methanethiosulfonate Usage And Synthesis
Description
MTSEA-biotin is a thiol-reactive probe that can be used to label proteins at cysteine residues.
Chemical Properties
White Fluffy Solid
Uses
Reacts specifically and rapidly with thiols to form mixed disulfides. N-Biotinylaminoethyl Methanethiosulfonate can be used to probe the structures of the ACh receptor channel of the GABA receptor channel and of lactose permease. MTSEA-biotin has recently been used to probe the topology of the serotonin (5-HT) transporter by site-directed chemical labelling.
