Uses
Lysophosphatidylcholine 18:2 (1-Linoleoyl-2-Hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-PC), a lysophospholipid, is a potential biomarker identified from insulin resistance (IR) polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Low plasma Lysophosphatidylcholine 18:2 also has been shown to predict impaired glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, coronary artery disease, and memory impairment[1][2].

ChEBI: 1-linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine is a lysophosphatidylcholine 18:2 in which the acyl group at position 1 is (9Z,12Z)-octadecadienoyl. It has a role as a mouse metabolite. It is a lysophosphatidylcholine(18:2/0:0) and a linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine. It is functionally related to a linoleic acid.
Biological Activity
1-Linoleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-PC (LGPC) is a lysophospholipid containing linoleic acid at the sn-1 position that has been found in mouse heart, lung, liver, spleen, kidney, plasma, and serum.1 Serum levels of LGPC decrease with increasing insulin resistance and dysglycemia in humans.2
