Uses
α-Linolenic acid-d14 is the deuterium labeled α-Linolenic acid. α-Linolenic acid, isolated from seed oils, is an essential fatty acid that cannot be synthesized by humans. α-Linolenic acid can affect the process of thrombotic through the modulation of PI3K/Akt signaling. α-Linolenic acid possess the anti-arrhythmic properties and is related to cardiovascular disease and cancer[1].
Biological Activity
α-Linolenic acid-d14 (ALA-d14) contains fourteen deuterium atoms at the 2, 2', 3, 3', 4, 4', 5, 5', 6, 6', 7, 7', 8, and 8' positions. It is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of ALA by GC- or LC-mass spectrometry (MS). ALA is an essential fatty acid found in leafy green vegetables. ALA, as part of a low saturated fat diet, helps prevent cardiovascular disease. ALA decreases blood pressure, serum cholesterol levels, and platelet aggregation.1
