Diethylaluminum ethoxide is a base in aldol condensation reactions; it can be used as a reducing agent in the preparation of Ni catalysts.
Flammability and Explosibility
Spontaneously flammable in air (pyrophoric)

The reagent itself is pyrophoric and its solutions are highly flammable and air and moisture sensitive and should be handled under an inert atmosphere. Use in a fume hood.
