PF-1163B Usage And Synthesis

Description

PF-1163B is an antifungal agent produced by Penicillium sp. II. PF-1163B inhibits ergosterol (ERG) synthesis (IC50 = 34 ng/ml). PF-1163B showed potent growth inhibitory activity against pathogenic fungal strain Candida albicans but did not show cytotoxic activity against mammalian cells.

It is isolated from Penicillium sp.PF1163 and exhibits antifungal activity against the pathogenic fungal strain Candida albicans TIMM1768.
